The Live Long podcast:

About

A podcast that explores the science and stories behind human longevity

In a series of one-to-one interviews, the Live Long podcast explores the science behind lifestyles that promote healthy aging. Peter Bowes interviews world-renowned researchers, future thinkers and biohackers, all of whom have a common goal of figuring out how we can stay healthy for longer. We also talk to inspiring individuals who have mastered the art of aging well.

The Live Long podcast philosophy is that there is much we can do to extend our healthspan, that is, the length of time that we enjoy optimal health, free from chronic diseases.  We discuss exercise, food, sleep, social connections and much more.

We love to hear your feedback and suggestions for the Live Long podcast. Are there any topics that you would like to hear us discuss?

Guest pitches

If you would like to be a guest – or you are a publicist with a client to pitch – we would be delighted to hear from you. To ensure that we’re on the same page, please read the notes below outlining the areas of expertise that work best for us.

  • We welcome guests who are leading experts in their field. They could be scientists, physicians, biohackers or authors with original research to share.
  • Our goal is to make scientific topics accessible to all listeners, so we look for guests who can break down complicated concepts in simple, relatable terms.
  • Our niche is sharing information and stories about science-based strategies for living longer and better. These include interventions related to the key pillars of human longevity – exercise, nutrition, sleep and social connections – i.e. lifestyle changes as early as possible in life, to optimize health as we grow older
  • Think preventive medicine and lifestyle interventions, rather than cures.
  • While our focus is on healthspan – extending the period of life spent in good health — we avoid deep dives into specific disease treatments, elderly care or disability issues, as these areas are well-covered by other podcasts.
  • We enjoy speaking to journalists and ‘thought-leaders’ in the field and encourage skeptical analysis of longevity trends.
  • Inspiring individuals who have successfully mastered the art of aging – including centenarians – are also welcome. We love to learn from their lifetime wisdom and real-world insights.
